What do we believe

The “Grace” Letter

Grace “Fundamental” Baptist Church

What does the word “Fundamental” in our name mean ? That’s a question I’m sure some have asked. This word simply underscores our belief in the fundamental teachings of the Bible. Here is a brief overview of some of the fundamental doctrines which the Bible teaches and we believe.

We believe that a person has to individually receive the LORD JESUS CHRIST as their personal Saviour in order to be saved. This salvation is based on having put faith in what the LORD JESUS CHRIST did for us on the Cross of Calvary. ( Romans 10:9-10,13; Acts 16:31 )

We believe that the Local Church is to be a fellowship of professed believers that comes together to worship, praise, and adore the LORD JESUS CHRIST. ( Acts 2:41-47 )

We believe that the Bible is the inspired WORD OF GOD.

( 2 Timothy 4:16-17 ) That it is to be the rule for faith and practice.

We believe that there is a literal hell and all who do not receive the LORD JESUS CHRIST as their personal Saviour will be eternally lost. ( Luke 16:19:31; Revelation 20:11-15; Acts 4:12; ) Those who are eternally lost will eventually go to the Lake of Fire.

We believe that Jesus Christ is the virgin born Son Of God. ( Isaiah 7:14; Luke 1:26-35 ). That He is fully God and fully man.  ( Philippians 2:5-11; Colossians 1:19; Hebrews 1:1-3 ). That He is eternal.

We believe in the Great Commission ( Matthew 28:19-20 ). That the local church is to evangelize the lost. Evangelization is the sharing of the Good News of our risen Lord and Saviour with all men, women, boys and girls.

( Acts 1:8 )

We believe that the local church should send out and support prayerfully and financially missionaries ( Acts 13:1-4 ).

We believe that the financial support for the local church should be obtained through tithes, offering and sacrificial  giving of the members of that local church ( 1 Corinthians 16:1-2;

2 Corinthians 8:1-5 ).

We believe that God has called all saints to a life of holiness( Romans 12:1-2;1 Corinthians 6:9-11;2 Timothy 2:19;1 Peter 1:14:16 ) By this we mean that when a man or woman becomes a Christian, they are new creatures in Christ and the Holy Spirit leads them to live a life of separation from sin. ( 2 Corinthians 5:17; Galatians 5:16-23 )

We believe that the Holy Spirit is God ( Matthew 28:19-20;

Acts 5:3-4 ). That He is a Person and is co-equal, co-eternal as is God the Father and God the Son. Thus we believe in the Holy Trinity. That God exist eternally in three distinct Persons; God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. All three are fully God and have eternally been God.

We will continue this study in the next issue.
